Shark Fin Cove is a new location for me, which is kind of crazy because I shoot at Panther Beach, literally a mile away, all the time. Lucky for me, Alex decided this is where he wanted to pop the question to his girlfriend Lisa last week.
Patrick and Kelly met me at Panther Beach in Santa Cruz for their mini engagement session - technically these sessions are only 30 minutes long, I usually am having too much fun with couples so we spend 2x as much time together taking pics! Even though our shoot was two days before Christmas, it was really nice out – no wind at all, which is rare for this west-facing beach. This super fun couple decided Panther Beach in Santa Cruz would be the perfect spot to celebrate their 5-year wedding anniversary. They're full of energy and love, as you can plainly see in the photos below. This was a very candid shoot, lots of running and jumping and generally trying to stay warm on the cool October evening. This lovely couple is getting married in India with their 600 closest friends and family in a couple weeks, but before they head off overseas for their wedding, they wanted to have a romantic engagement shoot closer to home. After looking through my engagement galleries, they settled on Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach, just a few minutes north of Half Moon Bay. It's a gorgeous location, unlike any other I've been to. In one location you can explore the "haunted" forest on the bluffs, often catching beautiful rays of the setting sun if you're lucky – and finish the session with a few photos on the beach. Garima looked stunning, and stood out with her classy red dress among the otherwise mute tones of the forested landscape. Wow. Just, wow. How cool is this couple? Just hanging out with them for an hour elevated my own level of awesome a couple notches. Chemistry? Check. Snarky sarcastic sense of humor? Check. Adventurous, positive, and voted most likely to catch a giant sea creature while spearfishing? Check check check.
